Is your past holding you back from enjoying the present and a better future?

Do you sometimes feel you're not good enough or can't get what you want in your personal life or career no matter what you try or how hard you work?

Does anxiety or depression hold you back from pursuing healthier relationships or more fulfilling career opportunities?

Do you want to spend less time in therapy and more time enjoying your life?

Have you tried counseling and other ways to overcome childhood trauma, upsetting events, depression,  anxiety, shame, self-esteem issues, and these approaches have helped some, but not enough?

My Specialties:

As an Atlanta Therapist, I specialize in helping adults overcome childhood trauma and more recent upsetting events that are the root cause of anxiety, depression, relationship problems, critical self-talk, addictions, and other issues that people seek counseling for.

I help you not only heal from the emotional pain of the past, but also change the coping strategies and behavior patterns that no longer serve you well. I teach you new ways to approach situations and handle problems.

By providing Atlanta counseling services, I have helped clients seeking relief from diminished self-esteem, self-confidence issues, heartbreak, grief, traumatic loss, PTSD, depression, anxiety, anger, relationship issues, childhood abuse, emotional neglect, abandonment, and the effects of growing up with insufficient nurturing or dysfunctional families.

My Approach - Genuine, Practical, Nurturing

Many clients comment on how easy it is to talk with me and how my style and approach to therapy is different than their prior counseling experiences. I take an active, conversational, practical approach to helping you achieve your therapy goals. I believe the more I am my genuine self with you, the easier it is for you to be yourself with me.

As a trauma therapist, I also understand the powerful healing effects of listening to your experiences and discussing them in a nurturing and non-judgmental manner.

Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I had a career in marketing management working in large corporations and smaller firms.  In my therapy and career coaching practice,  I draw upon my business skills as a problem solver and change agent along with my experience, skills and knowledge of psychotherapy, counseling and career coaching.

When appropriate for your situation and counseling goals, I incorporate the EMDR therapy appproach into our counseling work. People who have tried years of therapy and many approaches to resolve anxiety, depression, self-confidence issues or other obstacles, often gain relief, insight, get unstuck, and heal from distressing experiences in a relatively short time with EMDR therapy.

I love the work I do and believe your past does not need to hold you back from enjoying the present or the future. I am grateful for the privilege of hearing clients' stories and witnessing people heal, recover, and make the changes they desire.
